WHAT IS A MUSEUM?

Design Question

The flow of people in a museum is directed by either means of display like in a particular order. What if the museum becomes a space where people discover their own routes ?

Design Intention

The museum is reimagined as a space of a series of walkways which constantly intersect and divide to form spaces.

Site Analysis

The site is the Parle-G factory in Vile Parle. Earlier it was a factory but recently it has been converted to a commercial office space for Parle products.

Museum of ?

There are many factories and mills which have been abandoned. Thus the found material could be used to create something new. A museum of reclaiming micro narratives in urban ruins and assembles new spatial meanings from found objects.

Museum as ?

Museum as a labyrinth.A space where it does not have a firm boundary and the intersecting and separating creates the interior and exterior spaces.
